Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club of Denmark 25th Anniversary Show
Judges’ Profiles – Katherine and Ming Li (Avalcier)
We would like to thank the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Club of Denmark for inviting us both to judge our breed at your 25th Anniversary Show. We feel very honoured for this wonderful opportunity to celebrate your Club’s milestone with you all.
We have shown and bred Cavaliers together since the late 90’s. We were both born in the Far East and emigrated to the UK in our teens. Having owned dogs in the family for most of our lives (Ming, a GSD and Katherine, a small crossbreed), we purchased a Cavalier initially as a family pet for our children, one that would have a good temperament. We were lucky enough to obtain our first ruby Cavalier, Leelyn Cluedo. Although Cluedo was bought as a family pet, we were encouraged to show him. He went on to win a CC and a RCC, a dream start to showing! Our children also had fun as Junior Handlers with Cluedo.
Katherine first started awarding CC’s in the UK for our breed in 2011 and Ming in 2016. We have judged our breed a number of times overseas and other toy breeds. We have bred all 4 colours and have been fortunate enough to have made up 2 UK Champions and several overseas, along with a number of CC, RCC, JW winners and over 30+ lifetime Crufts qualifiers.
We have participated in the running of a couple of local canine societies for a number of years, hence can fully appreciate the hard work that committees put into running a show. We have also been jointly involved with cavalier rescue as well as other activities with our dogs, such as pet therapy for seniors in care homes. As we all know, our breed gives so much joy to us and those around us.
We ventured into beekeeping in 2024. It is akin to being involved with Cavaliers, we started with 2 hives and now have 6 ! We also enjoy walking/hiking and skiing.
We are very much looking forward to visiting Denmark and meeting you all. We hope everyone will enjoy themselves as much as we know we will.
